I’m your friendly, independent neighborhood tutor in Berkeley,  Albany,
El Cerrito, north Oakland, Piedmont, and Alameda. (For online tutoring, I work with students from just about anywhere.)

I can work with students in person, usually in their own home, or by video conference.

• Arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra I and II, and geometry: I work with students in Kindergarten and up to improve their fluency with arithmetic facts, comprehension of mathematical concepts and confidence with mathematical reasoning.
• Writing composition and reading: I work with students to help them gain confidence in their writing. Together, we tackle writer’s block and improve grammar, sentence and paragraph structure, richness of concrete details, and composition. I also provide strategies to improve reading comprehension.
• Early literacy: I use the proven methods of phonics to help kids unlock the secrets of the written language.
• Home schooling: I can provide in-home schooling in all subjects for elementary school students.
• College essays: I provide coaching to support students in the process of writing college entrance essays.
• Summer tutoring: I can help students stay caught up or even get ahead.
